Working with banks

KUKE constantly enhances its range of solutions supporting exports. To this end, it works closely with Polish and foreign banks that provide ongoing services and financing to their clients. Our solutions encourage banks to boost not only the financing of trade, but also financing of direct investments abroad and in Poland, including mergers and acquisitions. We offer instruments that only few countries in Europe make available to their exporters and banks.

We have concluded cooperation agreements with the following banks:

  • Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego
  • Bank Ochrony Środowiska
  • Bank Pekao
  • BNP Paribas Bank Polska
  • HSBC Bank Polska
  • PKO Bank Polski
  • Santander Bank Polska
  • Standard Chartered
  • ING Bank Śląski
  • mBank SA
  • Credit Agricole Bank Polska

International cooperation

Since 1999, we are a member of the Berne Union, i.e. The International Union of Credit and Investment Insurers founded in 1934.
Berne Union is an international not-for-profit trade association, representing the global export credit and investment insurance industry. Its mission is to actively facilitate cross-border trade by supporting international acceptance of sound principles in export credit and foreign investment.
Members
Members of the Berne Union include government-backed export credit agencies, private credit and political risk insurers and multilateral institutions from across the globe who provide insurance products, guarantees, and, in some cases, types of direct financing in the support of cross-border trade. Collectively, members provide payment risk protection for approximately 13% of world annual cross-border trade in goods and services.
Rules of activity
Internally, the Berne Union activity is bound up with the rules covered by “Guiding Principles”.
Support
One important aspect of cooperation within the Berne Union is the support given to newly established credit and investment insurance agencies through exchange of knowledge and expertise.

Cooperation with foreign export credit agencies

We work closely with export credit agencies (ECAs) from across the globe. We conduct joint activities, exchange information and support each other in the field of mutual reinsurance of medium and long-term export credits. As a result, Polish enterprises are able to participate in investment projects around the world, and ECAs are able to reduce the risk of such transactions. We have signed cooperation agreements and carried out joint projects with the following export credit agencies:

The European Union

We participate in the meetings of the Council Working Group on Export Credits (CWG Group), which was set up by the Council Decision in 1960. The main objective of the CWG Group is putting forward suggestions for the harmonization between Member States of terms and conditions for export credit insurance, financial credits and investment guarantees, as well as promoting exchange of information in this field of interest and encouraging consultation on all concrete problems.

OECD

We participate in the works of the OECD, whose aim, among the others, is to establish rules governing the financing of export transactions supported by the state, as well as to monitor observance of these guidelines. Our representatives take active part in working groups related to medium- and long-term export credits i.e. with repayment period exceeding two years. OECD is also a forum from the exchange of information about systems of supporting exports and a place for coordinating policies dealing with environmental and social issues within the framework of export transactions, combating bribery of foreign public officials in international transactions and sustainable lending dedicated to low income countries.
